Overlanding gear that earns its space in the truck

Overlanding is self-reliant travel where the vehicle is the basecamp — which means every piece of gear competes for limited space. The kit that matters isn't the heaviest or the most expensive: it's the recovery strap that's actually within reach, the air compressor that turns a soft tire into a non-event, and lighting that works when you're setting camp in the dark.

Everything below comes from our curated truck, road and outdoor ranges, sorted by budget — from under-$25 essentials that should live in every vehicle to the bigger-ticket gear for multi-day stretches off-grid.

Free shipping over $75, 30-day returns on unused goods, and delivery in 5–9 business days.

Overlanding gear under $25

The small fixes that save a trip: straps, tools, lighting and spares that live in the truck full-time.

Everyday trail and road kit — power, organization and roadside essentials that earn their space.

The bigger comforts and heavier-duty gear: camp power, storage and equipment for longer stretches off-grid.

The overlanding checklist, short version

Recovery before comfort. A tow strap, gloves and a shovel weigh little and sit forgotten — until the day they're the only things that matter. Buy recovery kit first, camp furniture last.

Air is the most common fix. Most trail tire trouble is solved with a compressor, not a spare. A 12V inflator and a plug kit turn an hour-long problem into ten minutes.

Power is a system, not a gadget. Charge a power bank from the vehicle or a solar panel during the day, and run your devices off the bank at night. See our solar guide for realistic panel sizes.

Organization is safety. Gear that slides around the cargo area is gear you can't find at the roadside at night. A simple bin or organizer for recovery and emergency kit is the cheapest upgrade on this page.
